Also I love that the promo is actually talking about PETER. Because when the world is coming to an end and he's your only chance of survival, it makes sense to discuss him, no?

But that picture of Peter with the quote above him about fate?
"Sometimes walking away from one's fate... leads one directly to fate's doorstep." Oh no. They're really pushing this dead Peter at the end of the season thing, aren't they? So I take it he isn't escaping getting in that machine, but I am more worried about him now because I feel like he might dig himself even further into a hole in his efforts to fight the inevitable operation of machine/destroyer of worlds but just end up working his way there even faster.

Anyone else wondering how the heck Peter is going to react when he tells Olivia or Olivia finds out about the Shapeshifter killings? According to what I've been reading in speculation threads, people are fairly certain it will be in this coming week's episode. But IDK, I'm not sure how on earth Peter would go about just telling her he lied to her and has been killing people, so I would prefer if she found out on her own and confronted him. How would he react, though? Is he going to be furious? Relieved? Scared? Not give a fuck? Righteous? :S

Well if Olivia's angry and a bitch to him, I'll just hate her.
He killed shapeshifters - that's not bad.
She wanted to talk to them - everything they could have known was on the disks, Peter checked, nothing.
So he lied. Does he have any idea what's happening to him? He could be scared shitless. Olivia was still being weird to him, one minute telling him she cared the next being an annoying whiny little girl -.- He had no reason to tell her.
I think she'll see all of his stuff and wonder what's going on (I doubt she'll figure it out herself) then Peter will tell her. Hopefully he won't apologise, it was the right thing.

Don't get me wrong, I am not defending Peter's actions in that episode at all. We all know (and he damn well knows) that was he did was in no way "good" however he feels like justifying it to Walter with his bullshit "they're not reaaaaal". To me I still think it is clear he just snapped in that episode and was desperate to gain some measure of control back in his life because he has lost every ounce of it from every other area, and for that reason I pity him. And I pity what will happen when Olivia finds out, because I don't think Peter deserves to hear nor will handle well the lecture or guilt trip she will put him on.

He didn't tell her because it wasn't really any of her business, at least in terms of Peter not wanting to share his psychological breakdown with the world and especially the woman who was deeply disappointed and angry at him over a bunch of things that were wrecking havok on his life as well. Why would he have told her back in Reciprocity? She could barely handle herself. She blamed Peter for the Altlivia thing even when he was the victim as well, and despite the apology she had completely disregarded how he might be coping with everything since he learned about the kidnapping, was betrayed by his real father, and then manipulated and abused by the woman he thought was her. So, I swear, Olivia better not get on her high horse about this.

But I agree Larissa, I suspect she will find those chips he stole or something that indicates he was involved in the murders and puts two and two together. I think Peter will get an earful. And, unfortunately, I have a feeling he will just be full of apologies, when what I would really love to see is a scene where Peter gets his fucking balls back and lets her know exactly why she wasn't told. Loudly. And angrily. Because I feel like there is a part of him that is angry at her too and we've only seen snippets of it, like when he so casually lied to her on multiple occasions in Reciprity, or chucked that photo album onto the bed in the crime scene during Concentrate and Ask Again, or his "excuse me?" when she brought up his feelings for Altlivia. But since Olivia is a goddess of all things pure and right and Peter is a dirty scumbag cheating bastard who can't do anything right, I doubt it will go down the way we want.

Thanks, Fringe, for taking the one interesting and enthralling plotline Peter has been given recently and making it boring as fuck and all about Peter and Olivia's relationship, as opposed to it just being about Peter.



I am so disappointed. Don't really care about this episode anymore.

Just like how the only time the Shapeshifter storyline comes back is when it involves Olivia. We've heard nothing since Reciprocity, and the minute it involves Olivia, we get to see it again.

My belief is that Peter has used the Machine and merges universes or creates a new one where time and space has been mixed together, and he's trapped there at the end of the season. Our Universe still exists because of the theory they introduced of The Road Not Taken - so in Our Universe he heals the holes between the worlds and they carry on, but Peter ends up somewhere else or something. And then season four leads us into the idea that our team thinks Peter died using the Machine and it's like a parallel between the start of this season with Olivia, and he has to desperately find a way to figure out whether they still exist and how to contact them or something.

Of course I'm totally not sold on that. I just want to hear all the other possibilities you girls have been thinking about!

Flashback? Or just a flashforward to if he doesn't use the Machine via the Observers? (though I don't like the last idea because I feel it's so cheesy).

I have no idea! It looks futuristic, but they literally did almost that exact same thing in Dollhouse, so I'm hoping that's not where they're going.

I just want Peter to get pounded on.

I love that idea. And he's all bloody and stuff because he's had to survive on his own and it's like a little nightmare world and he has to hide and fight and con and steal his way through life whilst also figuring out how to get home. And we get entire episodes where he's trapped and it's 43 minutes of porn every other week. And back home, the team is falling apart without him *_* I kinda really want to put this in fanfiction form xD

These photos are what inspired that post-apocalyptic fic I sent you. I thought maybe he's already used the machine and he's just got to wander about fighting to survive.

I was convinced it was all set 10 years in the future and it's the day he uses the machine, hence "The Day We Died". But since then the pictures of him in a peacoat with a cut up face have come out so I'm really confused xD I think someone mentioned that in the scene, he's lying on the floor looking up at the sky really confused - what if Peter's consciousness or whatever somehow gets put into future!Peter's body and he has no clue what's going on?

In Dollhouse, they did a season finale that was set a year in the future when the world had gone to hell and people were using technology that messed with their heads. They could load their consciousness onto a disk, remove it, and put someone elses in them, they could load abilities (I think Viktor did, anyway xD). It used to be that only this private facility could use the tech, but it got out and the world used it so it pretty much caused the end of everything xD

I'm leaning more towards the "Observer dragging Peter around to see the possible futures" idea. He looks like a kind of resistance leader of some sort. Certainly aged... and alone.

The producers say that no one on the Internet has come even close to figuring out the finale... What do they do? Have a webcrawler trawling every mention of Fringe?

I thought that too, about being the leader of some kind of resistance! I think it'll be great for the character, he's the reason all of this is happening and someone finally puts him in charge of something. Plus, Peter likes to be in the minority and piss off the authorities. I'm sure he won't mind working around the law xD

How have they even searched the whole internet? They're probably just going off FringeBloggers and EW and them which are pretty much Olivia-centered anyway xD
