But that's okay, because you channel those emotions on to a fictional character and come up with wonderful scenarios that I love to read and everyone's psycho about something. BESIDES imo the whole whump obsession we have is less about the hurt part of it (like, actually causing Peter PAIN, cus I feel bad about that) and more about how the other characters have to worry and piece him back together and be gentle and caring and loving with him and let him know that everything will be okay. <3 Or, that's what it is for me at least. Main reason I always like to read, write and see hurt/comfort about my favourite characters is because my favs are always the characters that get constantly shit on and don't bloody well complain about it enough, so no one ever quite gives them the comfort they deserve to feel and so I must latch on to them and LOVE THEM UNCONDITIONALLY to make up for it.

And then they'd need to dedicate the following episode to everyone trying to make it up to Peter by buying him coffees and doing whatever he wanted, and offering an oral apology, etc etc .... and he'd be all "save it bitches, I'm outta here. trying saving the universe on your own!"
