Yup. It isn't certain if the casting side will necessarily be the scene that is used in the episode, however. I've seen this done with other shows in the past where it's used to determine the actors range for what they need to do in the episode. That said, if it is the scene in episode it is very, very, very disturbing.

Young Peter is extremely upset and he has been locked in a hospital type place (obviously just after he's come to our side) and he isn't being allowed to see his mother even though he desperately wants to - glaringly, if I remember correctly, he doesn't ask for dad. .... Hello, child abuse, nice of you to welcome yourself further into Peter's life.

I'm a bit worried about this scene for Walter's character, because it does NOT paint him in a good light. That said, I want them to explore this. Peter didn't hate that man for the majority of his life for no reason and I want to understand WHY. I would also like Olivia to find out. Walter's hurt her too, but I feel that it will upset her more if she finds out how he used to treat Peter.

But ugh. Ugh. If this scene ends up being part of the script I am going to have a hard time watching it.

------ A thought that's just struck me - could it be to do with the dark Peter plot? Like, he's just been found out the episode before and it is revealed that his actions have almost NOTHING to do with the machine and everything to do with a breakdown, and he is receiving councilling or help of some sort? And he is forced to dig deep into the reason he feels so utterly betrayed by Walter and has to confront the horrible things that used to happen to him in the past?

I hope they address the car battery thing one day. I ... can't express how disturbing that image is for me. Shocking a fucking CHILD with CAR BATTERIES. I don't care what Walter was trying to do (probably trying to stop Peter from remembering his childhood, would be my guess. Though he could have just been using Peter as a test subject) but that is disgusting. Right up there with injecting drugs into young kids, except it is his son.

That's the reason I just can't like Walter. In my eyes he's a child abuser. I can understand him stealing Peter, but then abusing him once he's got him back - I don't get that. Even if he is testing him or whatever, it's still abuse.
I thought the episode might have been Walter talking to Peter, but I like your idea better. Firstly because it involves a Peter breakdown and secondly because it means he's actually accepted help. Which I can't see him doing too readily.
